Jackfruit

This dark purple fruit is best when wrinkled and soft. The outer shell must be cut to extract the runny juice and seedy pulp.

Star fruits are great as a snack and do not need to be peeled or seeded. Simply wash the fruit and remove any blemished areas.

Mamey

The flesh may be light pink to a deep salmon color when fully ripe. The flavor is similar to sweet pumpkin with almond.

Soft when ripe, the guava is creamy in texture with a rind and seeds that are fully edible. The flesh may be white, pink, yellow, or red.


Rambuton

Covered with fleshy pliable spines, the fruit flesh is translucent with a sweet, mildly acidic flavor. The single seed is poisonous and should not be eaten.

Pepino Melons

Either white or purple, these small melons have very soft, edible skin. Their taste is mellow, combining the flavors of cantaloupe, honeydew and cucumber.

About the size of a baseball, Zululand Queen Baby Pineapples feature golden yellow flesh with super sweet, intense flavor. The center core is completely edible.

The Meyer Lemon is yellower and rounder than an ordinary lemon and has a sweeter, less acidic flavor.

Melogold Grapefruit

The MeloGold Grapefruit is a cross between a Pummelo and a White Grapefruit. This fruit is extremely large with yellowish green pebbly skin and pale yellow flesh that is sweet-tart in flavor.


Kumquat

Kumquats are similar in taste to oranges & can be eaten raw and whole, skin and all. The skin is the sweetest part of the fruit, while the esh and juice within is sour.

Ugly Fruit

The ugly fruit taste is somewhere between a mandarin and a grapefruit, and it is delicious when simply peeled and eaten out of your hand.


Tejocotes

Tejocote's flavor is pleasant, similar to apples and guava. It's not typically eaten fresh due to its hard flesh, inedible seeds, and slight astringency. It’s generally cooked to make jellies or candies.

Star Apple

The Star Apple is a deep purple fruit named for the star-shaped pattern formed by its seeds. It’s very sweet, with a pulpy, jelly-like texture and a taste some compare to applesauce.


Soursop

To eat Soursop, cut it in half and scoop out the thick, creamy flesh which is similar in texture to a banana. The flavor is a combination of strawberries and apple with sour citrus flavor notes.

Tamarillo

Tamarillo comes in red, amber or gold varieties. The flesh is tangy and mildly sweet, similar to kiwi. Just cut across the middle, and dig out the flesh with a spoon. 


Young Coconut

These sweet young coconuts lack the husk of the mature coconut. They can be made into a refreshing drink or enjoyed as a quick snack. They are perishable, so keep them refrigerated.

Golden Kiwi 

The golden kiwi has a smooth bronze skin and is less fuzzy on the outside than the green kiwi. It also has a sweeter, more aromatic flavor. 


Quince

The quince is too hard, astringent and sour to eat raw. It must be cooked to bring out the apple, pear and pineapple flavors.

Golden Dragon Fruit 

The Golden Dragon Fruit has a bright yellow skin and white flesh. It is the sweetest and tastiest of all Dragon Fruits.


Dragon Fruit

Serve chilled and cut in half. To eat, scoop out the flesh and seeds much like a kiwi fruit.

Green Goosberry 

Many liken the flavor of the unripe gooseberry to a sour grape. Responds well to baking and sugaring. 


Cherimoya

With its sweet, fruity flavor, the cherimoya makes an excellent dessert fruit.

Mangosteen

The hard, outer shell should be cut carefully to expose the soft, white pulp which looks like a tiny pumpkin and is divided in segments like an orange.


Tamarindo

Crack open the shell with your hands, peel the strings down and away from the fleshy pod. Chew around the seed and discard.

Longan Fruit

Longan Fruit, also known as Euphoria fruit, is similar to the lychee. Small, round and brownish colored, it is fragrant, succulent and sweet.


Monster Fruit

Creamy white flesh is exposed when the six-sided exterior falls away like corn kernels. The flavor is most similar to that of a sweet pineapple.

Cara Cara Orange
